The Ride Home

The ride home is the hardest part / I can’t recall where I’ve been

The last have an hour is a blur to me now / I still smell you on my skin

The ride home is tough sometimes / ‘cause I’d like to stay.

It takes more than will / to make time stand still

Real life gets in the way

(Chorus)

And if I play follow the leader / will I be safe and be saved?

And if I play the role of the deceiver / will I go straight to my grave?

It seems I’m a soul that’s been saved / it’s the little deaths that make you behave

The ride home’s done best in the dark / where you can hide your secrets away

Lest someone could catch you dreaming  / dream away

No one can stop you from dreaming

The ride home is finite / ‘cause all good things come to an end

The question is how / is it here / is it now

would it do any good to pretend?

Chorus

The ride home is the hard is part / I can’t recall where I’ve been

The question is how / is it here is it now

Let’s start all over again
